Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2008 I walked from Canterbury to Rome and wrote a book about my journey (more information at www.romealone.org.uk)
Between February and May 2015 I journeyed on to Istanbul along ancient pilgrim routes. I walked mostly alone but I also met some friends for 3 days on Mount Athos in Greece. I visited the Dardanelles because 2015 is the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings. One of my great uncles, Dan Canty, died in the campaign. I left a commemorative scroll from Clifton Cathedral with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
I have been raising money for the International Refugee Trust. The IRT supports the work of the Comboni Sisters who provide essential care for Syrian and other refugees at Karak Hospital in Jordan.
