We support people with Spinal Cord Injury to help them live full, independent lives

Story

Can you please help me to raise money for people with spinal injury by sponsoring two challenging Aspire Charity swims in 2013?

On 1st September I will cover a distance of 2.5 miles across the Solent from FortGilkicker to Ryde Sands.

Then on 14th September I will participate in the Dart 10k (over six miles).

These swims will require at least as much preparation and cold water acclimatisation as with previous Relay Channel swims, where I again only wore trunks and goggles.

In 2011 the Aspire Marlins made a spirited attempt to get to France but conditions were not with us on the day. Then in 2012 the Aspire Otters made a successful crossing, which I was lucky enough to complete by swimming to the shore.

The combined fundraising total across all Channel boats in 2012 was over £100,000!

Your donation will fund someone to become more independent, for example with an adapted wheelchair to enable greater mobility and self-sufficiency.
