Story
So why the London Marathon? This is a question I've asked myself many times over the past few weeks. Early morning runs in freezing conditions, monsoon rains, sleet, snow, mud ice and flooded paths have tested my resolve. I've managed to keep going and managed to include more exotic locations to run, during trips abroad. This included the run in the desert in Al Ain (30 degree heat, a dried up river bed and a large herd of goats was a change from Richmond Park) and circuits of the Charles river basin in Boston (where Spring has arrived). Over 600 miles and I'm nearly there and no injuries (unless you count my toenails).
This will be one of the greatest physical challenges I have encountered and I'm now really looking forward to it. I'm running for GOSH Charity as they do so much to support the work that we do and I just wanted to say 'thanks' in a tangible way. The benefits of this is that they give you a distinctive running vest (hopefully it will be warmer by race day), a much needed massage at the end and there's no chance I'll need to don a banana costume!
I am so grateful for your support to help me get across the line, its all the motivation I need!
