We are two students from Edinburgh University who are planning to take part in the nationwide charity hitch to raise money for LCD (Link Community Development) International.  LCD is an association of charitable organisations working in sub-Saharan Africa to improve quality of education in some of the world's poorest countries.  LCD's largest annual fundraising event is a sponsored student hitchhike to Morocco or Prague.  Without the money which they gain from this sponsorship, the organisation would be unable to continue much of it's vital work.

If we raise our target amount of money through sponsorship and the fundraising events which we are organising (more information soon) we will leave Scotland on the first day of the Easter holidays, with the first kind person who gives us a lift!  We will get a ferry across to mainland Europe, and from there only a combination of luck, daring, initiative and sympathy from passing motorists will determine when we arrive in Prague! We are both studying German, and we look forward to having the chance to explore Germany along the less beaten track as we pass through.
