Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those of you who've known me a long time will be very surprised to learn that I'm training hard for the Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday, 15th September. Yes - you read it correctly - my love for fast food has been replaced with fast running shoes!
Well, I'm doing this to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of a good friend, who I was lucky to know. Ross Buckley lost his battle with cancer earlier this year, aged only 35. He was an absolute star and is sorely missed. He devoted his final weeks to spending time at home with his wife and young family, as well as organising a fundraising event, which raised several thousand pounds for Cancer Research and Iain Rennie Hospice at Home. This has inspired me to do my bit and carry on his fight, so we can rid ourselves of this horribly cruel disease.
I'm sure Ross is looking down on me and having a good chuckle at the early onset of my mid-life crisis.
Every donation helps - no matter how small - the way my training has gone so far, I won't even be offended if you sponsor me per mile (lol!)
