Story
On December the 3 2012 I underwent a Thyroidectomy which resulted in the removal of a thyroid gland and also a tumour the size of a small golf ball. I’d first discovered “The lump” some six months earlier whilst shaving and got to know its silent, barely perceptible growth over that period.
After the “Op” I had a two week wait, the anxiety of which I’ve never felt before in all my life, and as one might imagine, when the Consultant gave me the result of “All clear” my one and only beautiful life, for now at least, gifted back to me took on a re-birth.
Hence this appeal to anyone out there for donations however much or little you can afford, in aid of for the Specialist Head and Neck Cancer Department of the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
I’ve initially entered the Great Midlands Fun Run on Sunday June 2nd this year(2013) but if I get a good response from you kind people, may be spurred on to other challenges.
I will always remember some of the more unfortunate souls on the Ward who were into their treatment phases. It’s a lottery none of us want to win.
