Story

Dear friends,

I am the child and grandchild of refugees...without their risk taking, courage and determination I wouldn't have been born and living in the UK, and able to write plays, stories and poems...in fact, I probably wouldn't 'be' at all.

So, a good deal of my writing has been about the refugee experience, or working on projects to enable refugees and asylum seekers to express themselves and be heard.

The politics can be vexed, and our response can be complicated. But fundamentally I believe we should help other humans wherever we can.

Now, I'm not running a marathon or climbing Kilimanjaro...and writing and reading a few poems hardly equates with the struggles faced by millions of refugees right now...which is why I'm asking you to donate just the minimum (£2) possible to Medicine Sans Frontieres to help them help refugees, wherever they might be.

If you choose not to donate I understand, and many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page...either way, please forward the details to other people who may be happy to contribute.

Official stuff..."Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Many thanks

Peter
