Story
As some of you may know, I both like a challenge and am not always of sound mind...so having run a few marathons and realising I'll never beat my PB, I thought I’d best try something a little different.
So I'm running the North Pole marathon (yes, you read that correctly!) on 9th April 2013, in aid of Cancer Research UK. The race is run completely on floating ice, there isn't any land. The temperature has been as low as -37C for one race, although luckily it averages at a nice and mild -25 to -30C....
As I said I'm running the race for Cancer Research UK, a charity I'm sure you're all aware of and one that has helped, directly or indirectly, many of our family and friends, my own very much included. All donations welcome, however large or small. I have paid for the expedition myself so all charitable donations will go straight to Cancer Research UK.
So if you think I'm a little mental, please sponsor me. If you think Cancer Research UK is very much a worthwhile charity, please sponsor me. If you believe both are true, please feel free to double your donation!
For further details – especially for those who may not believe me (you know who you are!) - and to amusingly see the competitors’ page where it looks like I'm representing "GBR", please see the following link: http://www.npmarathon.com/
All donations very much appreciated by both me and those who will benefit.
