Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am walking the final 110km of the Camino de Santiago in early May 2014, with my daughter Madeleine. This is a pilgrim route to the shrine of the Apostle St James, in northern Spain, and is an opportunity for us to raise money for a charity that helps provide entertainment and comfort to hospital patients, and others in need, across the UK.
Music has changed my own life, and I know the power it can have on people who find themselves in an alien environment dealing with the most difficult of circumstances. Music in Hospitals is a charity which funds live music events at hospitals, residential homes and other venues across the UK to help improve the quality of life for patients, residents and others.

Here is some feedback from recent events:-
“The concert in the Children’s Heart Unit was an entrancing and unforgettable experience. The musicians were brilliant in engaging everyone and the ward and the parents were clearly thrilled with the effect that it had on the children.” Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne.
“Staff commented that they wished there could be music like this everyday. Patients, family and staff were all smiling and it helped to improve the atmosphere.” Alderhey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool.
It takes an average of £230 to lay on each event in a hospital, children's home, hospice, residential home or other location. The effects, as you can see, more than repay the time, effort and outlay. Any help you can give is very much appreciated, and please Gift Aid if you can, it makes such a difference.
Thank you,
Peter
