Story
After a few years of laziness I have decided to walk the South West Coastal Path in memory of Edwina, one of my secretaries who passed away, too young, recently after a long and brave battle with cancer. She and her family received excellent care from East Cheshire Hospice based in Macclesfield Cheshire.
Edwina received glowing tributes at her funeral, as to her lovely personality, warmth, integrity and selflessness.
The South West Coastal Path is the longest of Britain’s National Trails at 630 miles and my greatest challenge yet. I will be setting off from Minehead in Somerset on 21 May heading along the coast to Lands End and arriving in Poole Harbour on 21 June, walking an average of 20 miles per day. The whole expedition is being funded at my own cost. This remarkable coastal trail is based on the paths trodden around cliffs and coves by generations of people.
Please consider making a donation to East Cheshire Hospice via this fundraising page. ECH is largely reliant on donations and fundraising. It costs the hospice £345 per night to care for each patient. For every £1 raised, 90p is used to provide exceptional end of life care.
