Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At the age of just 54, my lovely wife Wendy suffered a seizure on 15 July 2010 and was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiform brain tumour, which is incurable. Wendy underwent surgery on 12 August, followed by six weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy through September and October. Her speech had been badly impaired since August and in November she developed paralysis on her right hand side. In December she was admitted to hospital with pneumonia and spent nine days over Christmas receiving intravenous antibiotics. Thankfully, Wendy was discharged on New Year's Eve and saw in 2011 in her own house. During the next two weeks we received wonderful support from Marie Curie nurses but sadly Wendy passed away early on the morning of 15 January. Our son Philip and daughter Nicola, and I, were with her. We buried her in Kenilworth cemetery on 3 February.
Her very special 'aqua' friends at the Warwickshire were so kind and supportive all through her illness and have now kindly organised a charity fund raising event in Wendy's memory.
My very warm thanks to them - and to anyone else who wishes to donate to research to find better treatments for this cruel disease.
