Story
We believe that every child, regardless of where they are born, has a fundamental right to a happy and healthy childhood. This should give them the best start in life possible, enabling them to grow into confident and capable young adults.
Fountain of Peace, in close cooperation with the local police and Social Work Department, provide respite or a permanent home for the most needy children, who have been orphaned or abandoned, in the Kyenjojo region of Uganda. They are the only registered children's home in the area and care for every child as if they were their own, providing them with a surrogate mother in a purpose-built family unit, giving them all the love, care and practical support they need to thrive. They currently look after 49 babies, with another 400+ attending the school.
Our office manager, Kris, had the privilege of first visiting the charity in 2018 and with a return trip planned for July 2020, knows first-hand the amazing impact Fountain of Peace has on the children as well as the surrounding area. "When I compare the relative privilege my own children grew up in to the tiny, malnourished babies arriving at the home, I knew it was something I needed to be involved with. Every donation, however small, will go a long way to improving the lives of these vulnerable babies, turning them into the happy, healthy toddlers in the picture above".
