Story
My son Martim, was diagnosed with a Medulloblastoma (brain tumour), in February 2022 at just 2 and a half years of age. Since then, he has been through 4 surgeries, 3 of them on his brain with the first one lasting 14h!
With intense physiotherapy and resilience, Martim is now walking! He is the strongest, sailing through chemotherapy, smiling and playing even when he is in pain or feeling sick, like a true superhero! He is due to finish soon, but we know that we will life with cancer forever.
We couldn’t do this without the great support of all the staff on PDU (Paediatric Day Unit) and ward C2 (Paediatric Oncology Unit) at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. Using my son strength I decided to run the Cambridge Half Marathon to raise money for the two fantastic units through the ACT charity, so they can be able to help more children and their families when they’re most in need.
I know the times are tough, but if you have a penny to spare, I would love if you could use to support my craziness. Thank you!
