Story
Thanks for visiting! We are in the middle of an awesome project, and YOU can help us acheive our goal, of rasing funds for African and local charity!
Come July 2012, we (9 students of St. Andrews University) will set out on an epic journey, cycling across Southern Africa from Beira, Mozambique, in the East, to Walvis Bay, Namibia in the West. 2500 miles of cycling, over plains and mountains, to the spectacular Victoria Falls and through the dusty savannah of the Kalahari Basin.
Our journey is about more than stunning scenery. The human and cultural aspects of the trip are equally compelling, taking us through culturally rich regions, a variety of countries, nations, and no doubt a variety of cultures. Our route will take us through Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi, while rich on culture, some of the world’s poorest areas. We hardly need reminding of the poverty that is faced on a daily basis by the people of Sub-Saharan Africa. Our fundraising is in supporting of the One Foundation's work in the poorest parts of Africa, ensuring that our expedition benefets the people we meet along the way. Through our link with the St. Andrews Charities Campaign, 50% of funds raised will support local charities, remembering that people struggle also in "our" part of the world.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure.Once you donate, your money will be sent directly to the charity and Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
