Story
On October 15th 2016, we travelled to the children's SOS villages in Ghana. This is part of the work provided by WWEP to improve education for those most in need. We travelled extensively, providing a high quality training for teachers so that children, who may otherwise have nothing, have a better chance in life. Education is their way out of extreme poverty!
Thanks to the generosity of so many of our friends and colleagues, a container of furniture has arrived! This will be distributed to the most impoverished of community schools. However... this is only the beginning!
While out here, we have been involved in designing a sustainable development programme. We will be supporting SOS schools to develop teams of advanced practitioners to go into community schools and make a difference to the poorest children's learning experience. The long term goal is to have all SOS schools trained, positively impacting the 43 community schools and their 20,000 pupils.
This is a long term goal which will need funding to get off the ground but, once established, will allow Ghanaian teachers to flourish, no longer requiring our input. If you can give anything to help us make this a reality... please do!
Thank you
