Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I hope to raise funds to build ten family homes for ten poor families - £8,000 in total. Thirty-two years ago I was a three-year volunteer in South India, working for Brother James Kimpton fsc., and Reaching the Unreached of Village India. At that time, after working in Asia for over thirty years, James was a little unwell and I went to help him - he had angina. Now, after sixty years of service to the poorest of the poor, he's still there, still transforming the lives of people in desperate need. Find out more at rtu.org.uk
In May James will be 85 years of age so I'm going to see him. I'm after a piece of his birthday cake - even if I have to make it myself. I know he won't come back to the UK, and I won't fly to India, so, being without a car these days, I intend to get there myself using my pedal bike. I'm setting off in March. Unfortunately, every route seems to include war zones, deserts, pirates, huge mountains, nasty diseases or general 'no-go areas'. So I'm not sure how I'll do it, but I expect to find a way. Follow my progress, or lack of it, at rtu.paulabbott.org I fancy riding back on a motorcycle.
