As you may know I'm now living in Sweden, and the weather over here is sometimes a tad cold (we had temperatures of -24C over the Christmas break), so running can be fun at times. But I bought some lovely leggings and a hat and I'm getting the miles in. So, as the message said, please dig deep, and thank you again for visiting my page.
That part above was written a few months ago, and now Spring is here and the birds are out in full force, flowers are blooming, bees are buzzing, the sun is shining, deers and bunnies are bouncing over the meadows, and a particularly old still out of shape English fat man is still stumbling and coughing his way around a Swedish forest. But it's now less than two weeks to the big event, I am still in preparation getting the miles in, and (a rather large volcano permitting) I will be there to at least make the other runners look good...
Well, now it's post marathon and I'm still trying to get my legs to work properly, and at the moment stairs are very, very evil things. I finished with some very interesting blisters and chafing in places which I didn't even know could be chafed, but it could be worse. On that note, I would like to thank the people of Belfast who lined the streets and gave their support. A lot of us, I think, would have found finishing the distance a lot harder without the shouts of encouragement from the crowds who waited for hours on a Monday afternoon on the Belfast streets when they could have been in bed, so thank you all very much.
And thank you so much for your donation and support for what is a very worthy charity...see you next year.
