The Curmudgeons are Peter Cogings, Dylan Hartley, Dave Jackson, Andrew Naylor and Paul Watling.
We are taking on the Pennines and cycling from Cumbria to Tyneside and hope to complete the challenge in 4 Days, (this is because Paul is the weakest link, the rest of the team could do it in 2!) We will be staying in Youth Hostels which is ironic as we have a cumulative age of 295. Our Trek will start on Friday 29th May 2015 in Cumbria and finish (hopefully) on Monday 1st June 2015 on Tyneside.
Dave Davies was a good friend to us all and we spent many an hour with Dave either, Walking, Talking, standing on the Terraces of the New Bucks Head or Drinking a nice pint or two of real ale.
Dave died on the 7th September last year in the Severn Hospice in Telford, his last days were made easier for him and his family & friends by the superb service given by this excellent establishment.
We wanted, as friends of Dave, to show our appreciation to the team at the Hospice by doing something that Dave would appreciate and we think he would like what we are planning. Please give generously as we know Dave would!
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
