To friends/family/colleagues,

this is the first time I have raised money for charity on my own and will be the first time I have ran the Bupa Great North Run (and hopefully not the last!!).  I have chosen Macmillan Cancer Trust as I think everyone knows someone close to them who has suffered from the illness.

Macmillan has the ambition to improve the lives of everyone living with cancer.  They fund nurses and other health and social care professionals; provide emotional support and information through Cancerline; and provide financial help to cover the additional costs that cancer can bring.
