The Stroke Association's London to Paris · 9 September 2010 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Hi

I was inspired to undertake the London to Paris bike ride for several reasons, two years ago an aunt in her eighties suffered a stroke and made a partial recovery, although once fit and active she has since been house bound. I saw at first hand the importance of care and rehabilation after visiting her in hospital, and seeing many other stroke victums. Recently my mother-in-law suffered a stroke and died one week later, although she did have a slight stroke some ten years ago, her fatal stroke came as a massive schock to all family and friends. I wonderd if there was anything I could do to help this often forgotten cause, then a friend decided to untertake the walk to 'Everest base camp' in support of a local cancer charity, inspired I looked and found this challenge, a long bike ride to Paris, and all up-hill, so I have been told.
