Completed in 2hours46, raised near on a thousand pound, many many thanks for your generosity, cannot thank you enough. Goal well and truly met by raising awareness for MND and to help my uncle bob and his family who are living with this illness. Love you Bob.
Recently a very close family member was diagnosed with MDN. Prior to this I did not realise the impact this illness can cause in such a short period of time. Basic tasks like feeding yourself, holding the phone and walking.
I have only seen some of the affects this illness can cause and will never be able to fully understand the pain and the impact felt by both the affected and their immediate families.
The couple close to my heart who have been affected by this terrible illness have been nothing but generous, kind a so caring to not just family but everyone around them.
As a small token to help both of them to make the best of their current situation and to bring more awareness of MND I will be swimming 10 kilometres 6 miles in open water on May the 27th at the Olympic rowing park at Eaton.. I aim (note the aim) to complete the swim in under 3 hrs 30 mins! Details can be found here http://swimseries.humanrace.co.uk/events/eton.
All money raised will go to the Cambridgeshire branch of the MND association.
Not sure what will be the challenge, the swim or getting the extremely tight wetsuit over my belly!
Oh, and to put your mind at rest I will be not be circulating any pictures of me in my wetsuit! Head shots only.
I would appreciate if you are able to sponsor me even if it’s a pound as every little helps, and to take time to visit the MND website to raise awareness.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page and review the MND website.
A special thanks also to http://swimfortri.co.uk/ who are helping my open water preparations and my local swimming pool for contributing my swimming training fees to the fund.
Thank you
Paul
