Story
Tackle Africa is a charity I have been privileged to sit on the local organising committee for a couple of years now. Mainly because the Generation Press football team have competed in the Brighton Football Marathon and as a team we had been quite successful in raising money for Tackle Africa, over £10,000 in the last three years.
Unfortunately this year I couldn't play as I was committed to a cycle event in the French Alps called the L'Etape Du Tour, a middle age bucket list event of real punishment. I survived.
To make up for my absence from this years Football Marathon I have signed up with my sister Kate for the Prudential RideLondon 100 mile ride. From the Olympic Park out of London, through the Surrey hills and back on to the Mall for a grandstand finish. Kate and I did this last year in the tail end of a hurricane, this year we are hoping for better weather.
We are also hoping all our lovely friends, family and colleagues will help us raise money that really does make a fantastic difference to the lives of many thousands of kids who learn about the dangers of HIV through football coaching. Kids absolutely love the football coaching they receive whilst being educated on the spread of HIV AIDS. Brilliant.
Every penny you donate goes direct to the charity, we have paid all costs of the event, so this is not a jolly for us, though yes, it is us having fun and pushing ourselves, hopefully to inspire you to donate to the amazing Tackle Africa - and make a difference to quite a few children from the smallest of donations.
