Hi! My name is Matthew and this will be my first ever Great North Run. I first ran the Junior Great North Run in 2008 but, after a good deal of persuasion, I decided to go for the big one! I am running with my Mum and Dad who have been my training partners throughout (and are old hands at this sort of thing!). This will be a big challenge for me but I am doing this for a really good cause - Breast Cancer Now. I never got to know my Grandmother because she died of the disease before I was born.
