This year I was so lucky to get a place in the London Marathon through the ballot. Years ago when I used to run for Mo Jackson’s running group in the village I would never have thought that I would be running now.

A few years back as I sat chatting to the wife, I told her that my biggest regret was not running the London Marathon when I was younger - her reply was “your not dead are you, you can still do it” 😂 the following day after years of not running, I put on my trainers and ran my first ever park run in a decent time (if I do say so myself), my aim was to run the London Marathon in the year I turned 50. Unfortunately,  I didn’t get a place so instead i ran the York  marathon 2 days before my 50th birthday and as they say the rest is history.  I suppose I got the running bug.  So thank you to everyone who has supported me and believed in me along the way and pushed me to be a better runner.

Although, I could run and not raise money I have decided to run the London Marathon in memory of my mum who we sadly lost in August 2020 to an anaphylactic shock, I still miss her greatly and it was a big shock to myself  and the rest of the family to lose her so suddenly.  

I really hope my running the Marathon and my running achievement’s  would make her proud.
