Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hello,
My name is Paul Mc Govern from Dromin, Dunleer, Co Louth. I’m doing a huge charity walk for MS Ireland at Easter, 2015. I’m going to walk from Salthill, Co. Galway, to Dunleer, Co. Louth. Ten days to complete a mammoth 148 mile trek. Nanook, my four year old Alaskan Malamute dog will be doing it with me.
My relationship with MS Ireland is I’m one of their clients, I have it. I was diagnosed six years ago with RRMS, relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis, a very aggressive form of it. This walk should have been done two years ago but health wouldn’t allow me to do it. I’ve had a rough time but with good medication and just after getting on top/grips with a brain tumour, I’m now in the position to take this walk on again and really looking forward to days on the road with one of the most fantastic breed of dogs.
MS Ireland helped me through some really tough times and my goal now is to raise €100,000 for them. If that amount is hit, we’ve agreed that a % will go to research to help find the cure. That has always been the one issue I’ve had with raising money, maybe it’s because I have MS, but imagine to be part of something that to me is best described as finding the holy grail.
My event can be followed/donated on Facebook “Charity Walk 4 MS Ireland” and google “MS Ireland Nanook”.
I would be so grateful if you’d sponsor the walk through a financial donation, no matter how small.
This really is on course to being a huge event and I believe with your help, this target is possible. Please like and share our community Facebook page if you can.
