Story
Hi Everyone!
As many of you will remember, my old dad and I went to Russia in September 2005 to cycle between St Petersburg and Moscow. Well, four years on, the bruising has subsided and we are ready to go again, this time to Mayan country in Mexico! This time however, my brother has decided that he fancies coming and spending a week in my slipstream! We leave for the Yucatan peninsula on November 19th so anything you can muster to donate before that time will be hugely appreciated.
We are required to raise a total of £7200 fo the National Deaf Children's Society and we are are well on the way, having raised over £4000 by holding a charity golf day and sportsman's dinner at the George Washington Golf and Country Club, my place of employment, last October.
It is now time that I approached all of you in an attempt to squeeze as much out of everyone I know for the charity.
NDCS is a wonderful charity which is making huge advances to benefit deaf children across the world. Here is a brief resume of what they are about:
Our vision is a world without barriers for every deaf child
Our mission is to remove the barriers to the achievement of deaf children throughout the world. We do this by:
- Families to achieve the best outcomes for their deaf child
- Deaf children and young people to achieve their true potential
Innovating
- World leading family centred services supporting deaf children and their parents
- New approaches to the development of effective communication within the family and other environments
Challenging
- Social attitudes which prevent deaf children from reaching their true potential
- Governments to act where necessary
Values
We believe that:
- Every deaf child has the right to the same opportunities as a hearing child
- Every deaf child has the right to be included and valued by society.
- Families have the right to make informed choices on behalf of their deaf child and for those choices to be implemented
- Families have the right to clear and balanced information and support, delivered in a way that is accessible to them.

So please dig deep and donate now.
Much love.
