Story
Having got a bit of running out of the way (the Edinburgh Marathon being the most memorable) we thought we should do something more sedate this time. Lesley organised a coffee morning at home and invited friends and family to see a few photo's from Nepal (complete with prayer flags in the garden) . A great total of £126 was raised and a lot of cake eaten.
All money is for Community Action Nepal a great charity started by mountaineer Doug Scott. CAN helps the mountain people of Nepal become more self sufficient and maintain their culture.
We both visited Nepal for 4 weeks in March and April treking through the Lantang Valley, over the Gosainkund pass and into Helambu. We visited one CAN health project to see things first hand and this has inspired us to help do what we can to help. Money raised will go towards projects in health, education, water and cultural development.
There are some pictures below of our trip and a couple taken at the health centre we visited.
Paul's company, Cloudberry Medical, will also be donating money to CAN this year.
