Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 23rd May 2014 I'll be starting a 980 mile ride from the bottom of England, to the top of Scotland - otherwise known as Lands End to John O'Groats, or the End to End.
I'll be riding with two other cyclists, Fraser and Steve, and we plan to complete the challenge in 9 days - that's around 105 miles per day, every day - the furthest I've ever riden in a day is 65 miles (and that took a while before I felt like getting on my bike again!), so I know some serious training is going to be required.
This is a self organised ride, so we're planning our own route, finding our own accomodation, and covering our own costs - every penny raised will go directly to the Children's Hospital Charity, so please dig deep!
Last year more than 245,000 patient journeys were made to the Children's Hospital in Sheffield, from all over the UK, Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and Australia. This is due to the specialist services and care provided at the hospital.
As a father of three girls, I know how important and precious they are to me - so I'm raising money for the Children's Hospital to help them to continue to provide specialist services, and ultimately to save the lives of more children. Donations allow the hospital to buy equipment, fund research and provide better facilities that would otherwise be unaffordable under the NHS.
Please give what you can - even a little will help this great cause - and with every donation you can leave me some words of encouragement for free!
I'll keep updating this page with progress of preparations, and photos and updates from the event itself, so keep coming back.
