Story
Last year my mum, Pat, was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. Just eight short months later I was with her when she died, alongside my sister and dad.
Weston Park Hospital tried a new and innovative treatment which worked, but other issues took their toll and meant they sadly had to stop the treatment. As a thank you to them for their loving care, Paul Johnson and I would like to raise money for them in my mum's name.
We've walked for charity before (the coast to coast in 7 days; Offa's dyke in 10) but we've never tried to walk a hundred miles in under 48 hours. It is a walk organised by the brilliant Long Distance Walkers Association. Starting in Malton, North Yorkshire, we will walk all the way up to Whitby and back down again. We will set off at 10 am on Saturday 27th May, then trudge on through the night, and all day Sunday - hoping to finish in the early hours of Monday morning.
How stupid does that sound?
Knowing we're walking for my mum, and for such a good cause, this will hopefully push us on when the many dips come. And so your support will mean so much to us both.
Thanks, The 2 Pauls
