For the last 25 years I have been teaching project management skills, of which a major part is communication. I teach many types of communication, including verbal and non-verbal, physical, etc. I enjoy educating people in respect of communication factors, including barriers such as environment, attitudes and emotions, selective listening, time zones and geography, distractions, culture, eye contact, body language, posture, tone of voice, gesture and facial expression.
All of this led me to thinking about people living with complex disabilities, and the increased challenges that exist. Based on my experience, communication is generally difficult, and despite the many different and new techniques, methods and platforms, seems to be getting more difficult.
So, without rambling too much (and potentially over- communicating), I am runnin g the London Marathon for Sense to support the drive for helping to enable and improve communication for people living with complex disabilities. In today's world, nobody should feel isolated or left out, or feel unable to take part or contribute.

About Sense
Sense is a national Charity that supports people who are deafblind and those with complex disabilities, to be understood, connected and valued. They are there for every person who faces communication barriers in a world that relies on being able to see and hear well to be connected. Together we can unlock barriers to communication so no one is isolated, left out or unable to fulfil their potential.
