Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in memory of Ezra Kensit Sims.
Paul & Bonnie were excitedly expecting the birth of their 2nd Son in March of this year. Tragically, in November 2015, they discovered their little Ezra had infantile PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease). Bonnie was induced at just over 21 weeks into her pregnancy and gave birth to their beautiful angel baby.
Paul’s family has a strong history of PKD – Paul himself is affected, as are many of his wonderful family members – thankfully, the majority are asymptomatic, currently. It is a disease that is typically not apparent until adulthood and can be well managed dependant on the severity of the condition. This disease leads to end stage renal failure.
What happened to their son is rare, in the fact that the disease was discovered in utero, at a very severe stage. This is the first time this disease has affected the family this early.
To support the charity in continuing their fantastic work, we will be cycling 1200 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End. This will take two weeks, cycling c.100 miles per day and includes climbs that are equivalent to the height of TWO Mount Everest's!!
Any amount you can spare would be appreciated and don't forget, for every pound raised we have matched fund raising and the total will be doubled.
