Story
Timonene (hello) everybody! If you’re reading this, read on! I’m one of 40 people participating in “March to Malawi 2012” to collectively walk 8474 miles, which is the distance from the charity RIPPLE Africa’s base in the UK, to their base in Malawi. The event runs for a period of 7 months, between March-September 2012. My personal commitment is to walk 210 miles towards the group’s effort.
I just set up my page in July, so I’m upping the ante on fulfilling my 210 miles for RIPPLE Africa. For those who know my walking habits I’m not much of a speed walker, more a ‘saunter-er’ and runner when need be. Here is how I’ve elected to meet the 210 miles:

RIPPLE Africa is incredibly near and dear to my heart, they’re work in Malawi is absolutely awe-inspiring. Having the opportunity to volunteer last year was a life changing experience and a reaffirming awakening to the value of human kind, regardless of status.
Any size donation is welcomed. Please note that you are donating to a U.K charity, and for U.S residents the donation is not tax deductible. RIPPLE is looking to partner with an affiliate chairty Stateside, though this hasn't been set up yet.
RIPPLE Africa can stretch each and every dollar provided; the beauty of a small charitable operation with incredibly dedicated founders, staff and volunteers.
I’ll be keeping my page updated on my progress, and would encourage you to visit the RIPPLE site at: www.rippleafrica.org, and to also read my rather lengthy reflection on my time in Malawi, found here.
Thank you and God Bless.

RIPPLE Africa is a UK registered charity working in education, healthcare, and the environment in Malawi, Africa. Their projects include running and/or assisting eight nursery schools, five primary schools, a secondary school and a secondary school bursary scheme, a community library, two community health clinics, a disabilities and rehabilitation project, tree-planting and fruit tree projects, fuel-efficient cookstoves, forest conservation, and more. RIPPLE Africa does all this on a very small budget and has very little administration costs, so almost your entire donation goes directly to the cause. The charity is making a huge difference to people living in Malawi. To learn more about the work that RIPPLE Africa is doing, visit their website at www.rippleafrica.org.
