Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As part of my company Barton Willmore's 75th anniversary, we're doing a charity cycle relay linking all our offices across the country. I've decided to do the leg from Ebbsfleet to Cambridge a) because it will be through a part of the country I don't really know and b) because completing it in a day will be a real challenge! It's approximately 70 miles from Thames Estuary to the flatlands around Cambridge, via what are rather worryingly described as the "rolling" Hertforshire hills...my daily potter into and out of central London it ain't!
If my last countryside ride (about 40 miles, 4 years ago) is anything to go by, this will result in yours truly turning into a right mess - I predict dizzy spells, dead legs, wobbly knees, wheezing, groaning and a hideously sore posterior.
However, I'm determined to complete the ride, chiefly because we're raising money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. One of the Marsden's Sutton nurses was a dear friend of ours before sadly, she became a patient. We remember her very fondly and I hope we can contribute handsomely to supporting the charity to continue and develop its work.
I'd be very grateful if you could sponsor me to complete the bike ride, no matter how little - it would all go to a very worthwhile cause.
Thank you.
Patrick
