Story
Sadly- our other cat Hemingway passed away from cancer 11 days after losing Patience. Hemingway joined our family around 4 weeks old as a foster along with his mom and 4 other siblings. We quickly became a foster failure and made him a permanent part of our family. While small in stature, he more than made up for it with his big personality. We often wondered if he was part dog as he would come when called and sit for us. When we started working from home in 2020 Hemingway took full advantage and was an excellent office mate. He enjoyed sitting in our laps while we worked and was known for frequent zoom bombing.
Hemingway leaves behind a family that adored him including his best friends Stewie and Blake. He did an excellent job of showing Stewie the ropes of being a cat including the zoomies around the house, frequent wrestling matches with Stewie and meowing the same time each evening with a (fake) dead mouse in his mouth. We love all our pets equally but affectionally called Hemingway "the best cat" as he was pure love and no fuss. 14 years is way too short, but we are so lucky to have him in our lives.
Patience was truly a miracle cat! We were fortunate to have her in our lives for the past 20 years. Patience loved to cuddle, sleep on heated floors and had the amazing ability to get super comfortable. She had the funniest personality- always letting people know what she wanted and when.
She grew to love our dog Blake and would frequently snuggle with him. She will be deeply missed and twenty years does not feel long enough. Later in life Patience had significant medical issues but thanks to Dr. Brum and the excellent team at Angell we were able to have an additional 3 ½ years with her.
We will miss Hemingway and Patience dearly and to honor them both we have established a joint fund in their memory that will help families in need provide medical care for their pets and are matching the donations to it. Elissa & Tom
