This is an emergency appeal made to raise funds to help LGBT refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.

Story

My name is Paskar Ochulu Owor, Ugandan, and a former 800m runner, IAAF world junior bronze medal at the 1998 championship in Annecy France, twice Olympian at Sydney in 2000 and Athens in 2004. I have also represented Uganda at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and in Manchester UK at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

OPAL is an African LGBTI organisation that supports LGBTI asylum seekers and refugees in the UK and Netherlands through proving a safe space, peer support, therapeutic and social inclusion. This group welcome African LGBT asylum seekers and make them very comfortable and feel at home. They need support.
