Step up for 30

Step up for 30 2021 · 1 April 2021 to 30 April 2021 ·
I'm taking part in step for 30 because this time last year I was shielding and on chemotherapy. I was admitted to hospital and was an emergency cancer diagnosis despite months of attending GP with vomiting and weight loss. Eventually my tumour was so large it obstructed my bowel and I couldn’t go to the toilet . I then vomited my bowel contents out of my mouth . All the time the doctors treated me for constipation. I was very embarrassed by this !!!
I was right !!
I felt very unwell , I was very unwell .
But no one listened to me or heard me.
I still remember the doctor coming to the room within 10 minutes of my return from my ct scan . She told me I had cancer and that the consultant phoned her as she was working from home and told her to go to me straight away and tell me immediately as she knew I had thought this for a long time .
I am so grateful to Mr Kevin Mccallion, Dr Jenny Addley and Dr James all in the Ulster hospital. They did not stop treating cancer throughout this pandemic . What an amazing team xxxx
