I was diagnosed with breast cancer last October following a routine mammogram and had the lumpectomy in Abergavenny hospital in the excellent care of Dr Gomez and his team, followed by 3 weeks radiotherapy at Velindre cancer centre. My neighbour was also diagnosed at the same time and we had as much laughter as we could on our daily commute to Velindre through the snow and cold!

Over the past year - and before - quite a few other people I care about have also been diagnosed with various cancers and I want to make some effort to give something back and to help the research needed to achieve that Victory over Cancer that Velindre is appealing for. Their appeal not only aids research, it also aims to help the patients and their families through such a difficult and demanding time. That diagnosis is a life changer so any help to everyone involved has to be a worthwhile investment.

I know I'm not the first to make the coastal path walk around Wales. In fact nearly as soon as the path opened fully just last year, someone RAN the whole way fundraising for Velindre - and what's more they also ran down Offa's Dyke path too! That's amazing! I don't want to break any records, I just want to try to do my bit and hope you will be able to sponsor my efforts! It's about 870 miles so with my love and great supporter, Chris, my husband, we'll take it in sections and take as long as it takes! If you would like to sponsor a little amount for each section we achieve that would be fine, or just make a single donation. I'll keep you posted on this page ( I hope) on our progress.....wish us luck!
