Story
Welcome to my Abseil Challenge page. I am taking part in this challenge to support the patients, families and staff across Children's Health Ireland hospitals and urgent care centres.
Born with a club foot (also called Talipes) in 1963 wasn't great and I wasn't given much prospect to be doing physical things. However, thanks to the pioneering surgery of Gerald Brady in Crumlin and the constant physio from Mum & Dad, I proved them wrong. And while it's coming back to haunt me now in size, shape and arthritis, I have had decades of happy tennis, hockey, soccer, and indeed any sport. Having been told I'd never run, that's pretty good going.
Then almost 4 years ago, I started working in Temple Street and fell in love with there and now I've come full circle and with both hospitals now under the CHI banner, I can raise some funds for the cause that means the most to me.
So, please donate what you can to help give every sick child every chance, to create a child-centred, home-from-home environment for patients in hospital and to ensure that children continue to have access to the very best facilities, services and equipment when they need it most. This is the power of your support.
