Story
33 million people have been affected by floods in Pakistan, hundreds have been killed, and the Government declared a national emergency.
Stagnant waters months after the initial floods have bought waterborne diseases with it; Dengue Fever, Malaria, Typhoid and Cholera just to name a few. The monsoon rains hit Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh provinces hard. There's been little respite for communities hoping to return home to see what can be salvaged.
The Action for Humanity Team have been mobilising emergency Aid Immediately to affected areas since last September.
£50.00- Provides a Dignity kit -During the most desperate situations such as the aftermath of a natural disaster or during a conflict, AFH distributes basic supplies to maintain the health and dignity of women and girls. Many of these supplies are included inside containers called dignity kits. These kits are given out at refugee camps or other similar locations. With your support we can ensure that needs that are necessary but often ignored are covered with your support. £50.00 will ensure females receive a months supply of the following products: menstrual pads, bath soap, detergent powder, sanitary napkins, a flashlight, toothpaste, a toothbrush, and a comb, all assembled inside a backpack or easy-to-carry bucket.
£35.00 - Food baskets- The food crisis is a symptom of a food system in crisis. Bad weather, high oil prices, agrofuels, and speculation are only the proximate causes of a deeper, systemic problem. The root cause of the crisis is a global food system that is highly vulnerable to economic and environmental shock.
