Why we are fundraising:

COVID-19 has impacted the access to refuge services for victims of domestic violence. Women's Aid state 'This is a challenging time for refuge services, who continue to face a funding crisis and severe levels of demand for their help.'

Over two-thirds of survivors responding to a Women’s Aid survey in April 2020 told the national charity that domestic abuse is escalating under lockdown and 72 per cent said that their abuser has more control over their life since Covid-19.

From Monday 11th May, Women's Aid has been given the opportunity to take over the sponsorship of Loose Women to raise awareness of domestic abuse during the COVID-19 crisis.

Women's Aid also actively support Transgender and Non-Binary victims of domestic and gender based violence, for whom COVID-19 will be an additional barrier to help. “We want to create a society that is free from gender-based violence and where the rights to equality and diversity are realised for everyone. We are committed to ensuring that transgender people are treated with respect and equality and do not experience harassment or discrimination on the basis of their gender identity or for any other reason.”

Raising funds for Women's Aid will mean more people across England will receive the help they urgently need.

The Draw

Tickets are £3 each.

The raffle will be drawn on Sunday 7th June 2020.
