Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for my climb for Africa next February.

It's the big one! Kilimanjaro and I need a hand raising money for a great charity, The Hunger Project who are training millions of women, men and kids to end their own hunger themselves.

The Hunger Project only works with those living on less than £1 a day. Food aid creates dependency so The Hunger Project doesn’t hand out food but instead works with people to create their own resources and meet their own needs.

People don’t want aid tomorrow, they just need a hand-up today -  so they can start to build sustainable infrastructure which includes education, healthcare, family planning, clean water and really importantly, a new found self-belief to start living above the poverty line.

Wish me luck for the climb and dig deep! or even better join in and support sustainable solutions to hunger - via

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

£ 500.00 - Enables a community in Benin to access clean water
locally trained volunteer leaders supply training and materials and the local community do the rest and commit someone to train the next village team.

£ 50.00 - Microfinance will create a new business loan for a farmer in Burkina Faso
Everyone gets training, starts a savings account, takes literacy and numeracy courses and importantly commits to sending their girls to our Epicentre school rather than employ them at home.

£30.00 - Agricultural Training/Tools in Malawi
Improving crop yields is a priority so local community demonstration farms and trainers have the answers and are able to provide the demonstration site for the entire community to come together to train, select new drought tolerant crops as well as accessing seeds and tools to improve their own farms.

£ 20.00 - Could provide a group of women access to health education in Uganda
Empowering women with education about maternal health, planning a family as well as access to nurses, medicine and advice is an important part in the breaking the cycle of poverty.

£ 10.00 - Will provide books/chalk in our Nursery Schools in Ethiopia
With your help the community comes together to build their own school buildings themselves but the children need books and chalk and materials to get started.
