Not far to go now - well not money wise any way! The BUPA Great North Run 2010 is hours away.

I'm helping Brysons Animal Refuge, in Gateshead, and Ark On The Edge Animal Sanctuary in Teesdale.

Brysons relies solely on donations to help stray and unwanted animals like Hamish the terrier cross. He was eventually spotted by the police and became a narcotics search dog.

Ark On The Edge sanctuary and education centre rescues domestic and wild animals including birds of prey, horses, goats, cats and foxes.  Dogs like Hamish help the Ark by putting on great training displays during its open days.
