Friendly Golden Retriever, Poppie, was born with three legs, but hasn’t let this hold her back. Last year the prolonged icy weather meant she couldn’t get out for her regular walks, and combined with some ill health this resulted in her weighing in at 30.1kg - 37% overweight.

Poppie is one of the overweight PDSA Pet Fit Club finalists, comprising 13 ‘huge hounds’, 5 ‘mega moggies’, and 3 flabby rabbits, who have been put on a strict six month diet and exercise plan by PDSA vets and nurses to help them slim down to a healthier weight and improve both their life expectancy and quality of life.
