Story
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit my page. Those of you who have known me for any length of time will know the PBC Foundation is very dear to my heart for far too many reasons to list here. A quick peek at the website, however, should answer all of your questions.
Anyone who has known me for less that 22 years will only have known me with long hair. It currently sits lower than my shoulder blades and higher than my waist. So, in order to raise funds for the Foundation, I have decided to shave my hair off.
Yep. To the bone. All the way. Number 0.
The date was settled and the deed was done on Tuesday 10th Aptil, 2012 at The Riverrooms, Stourbridge. A few friends and supporters came along to support, heckle and laugh as we first cut the pony tail, to be sent to Little Princess Trust, then did the clippers and finally a wet shave to take it down to the bone.
The wonderful Lorraine Coulson recorded and edited a video which is now on this page for your viewing pleasure. I am immensely proud of my daughters and how they handled this. I am also very roud of my friends who have supported me through this. I cannot thank everyone who has contributed, some with kind words of support for helping me make this a worthwhile endeavour.
So, I am very much asking you to support me on this. I started growing my hair when I left school in 1989. It has been long ever since. If you know me (or even if you don't know me and feel my pain), please support me in this and help me raise as many funds as possible for an awesomely hardworking organisation that does an incredibly important job: not just in the UK, but worldwide.
Other than sell my hair, I have decided to donate it to this charity:
This organisation pays for wigs for children who have been afftected by cancer and have lost their hair. I think this is an immensely worthy cause, too. For clarification, none of your sponsor money is going to this charity: just the donation of my hair which, thankfully, they have accepted. So, that means, I will have my pony tail cut, then the rest of my hair shaved off: 2 rituals for the price of one!! Oh, deep joy... :~)
Thank you, again, for supporting me in this.
Love and Light.
