Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Walking the national 3 peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) is a personal challenge for all four of us and we would like to raise some funds for Macmillan Cancer Support whilst doing this - the Macmillan nurses have done excellent work caring for family members recently.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Any donations towards Macmillan Cancer Support would be gratefully received.
Challenge Update (15-07-13)
Thank you very much for your donation. It really means a lot to us and to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The challenge went to plan and was achieved by the team in 21 hours overall. We couldn't have asked for better weather for the walk and have all enjoyed the challenge and the experience.
Ben Nevis – We started at 6pm at the youth hostel above Fort William and were at the summit in just over 2 hours. The top was in cloud and there was no view so we made our way back down to the van in just less than 4 hours.
Scafell Pike – We started up Scafell at 2:30am with head torches but within an hour there was enough light to see by. We made the summit in 1 hour 30 minutes and the round trip in less than 3 hours.
Snowdon – the A55 was quite busy but we still made good time on the drive. We started up Snowdon on the hottest day so far this year (29 degrees in the car park). The mountain was busy with a number of large groups of walkers that we worked our way through. We managed to make the summit in 1 hour 30 minutes and having taken a few photographs we made our way back down in just over 3 hours.
We are looking forward to the next challenge.
Thanks again for your support and donation, with your help we have managed to break our target of £1000 as the total collected for Macmillan currently stands at £1405.
Best regards,
Paul McGregor, Dave Alman, Marc Goulding, Andrew Barnett and Darren Hardy
