I’m Owen, I am 7 years old and I live in Desborough, Northamptonshire.

I was born with Menkes Disease, a rare genetic disorder caused by copper deficiency which affects many of my organs. 

My mum and dad say they are determined to make every day as special as possible for me.  They are working with Caudwell Children to raise £1,300 to buy a Mixed Light Sensory Pack; I really enjoy the lights, images and bubble tubes.  I am unable to hold and play with toys so this equipment will make a huge positive difference to my life.

I'm fundraising for Caudwell Children because they are providing me with Light Sensory equipment of my own.  The sensory equipment will give me visual and hearing stimulation and keep me smiling J.

Trudi Beswick, Chief Executive of Caudwell Children said: “We need the local community to support Owen’s appeal. Unbelievably, there are on average 100,000 disabled children waiting for appropriate equipment, some of which is not supported through statutory funding. The Mixed Light Sensory Pack will benefit Owen immeasurably and will increase his health and wellbeing.”
