Story
In October 2012 I will be setting off for Morocco as a member of a small team taking on a challenge which promises to be both difficult yet ultimately rewarding.
We will be walking for 4 days in the Sahara Desert, a harsh environment of sand dunes and rocky terrain, in temperatures ranging from up to 40C during the day to freezing at night, sleeping in tents or under the stars.
Prior to the trek I shall be assisting for two days in a Marrakech hospice, helping to improve the environment by lending a hand with gardening, painting and any other tasks to better the daily lives of those using the facilities.
I have undertaken challenges before in order to raise funds but since the turn of the year I have also taken an active role in supporting the Isabel Hospice as a volunteer. Having met some of those working at the hospice I know what a dedicated team they are and appreciate even more what a fantastic job they are doing in the community. Their work can only carry on with the continued support and generosity of us all.
I know times are hard but would appreciate any sponsorship you can afford. I can assure you anything you are able to give will make a real difference to those who are cared for by the hospice. The trip is self funded so all monies raised will go directly to the organisation.
