Story
This year I'm running the London marathon for Farm Africa, but not only that I'm also going to run the Dublin marathon four weeks later for the same cause. Two for one deal!
This year has been one of the most challenging years for farming communities across Africa and any support would be very much appreciated.
Today, almost half of the worlds extreme poor live in sub-Saharan Africa. The vast majority work in agriculture. Help farmers against the climate challenges and help people and the environment thrive. Farm Africa reduces poverty in eastern Africa by helping farmers grow more, sell more and sell for more. Providing expert training in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Farm Africa is growing agriculture, protecting the environment and developing businesses in rural areas.
How your funds will change lives and the environment...
£11 - could provide training to one woman in high-quality coffee production.
£65 - could help five farmers use their natural resources sustainably - so their land can be farmed for generations to come.
£146 - could help provide a grain silo so that farmers can store their harvests safely.
£245 - could help provide two beehives, equipment and expertise to train one farmer with their beekeeping business in Ethiopia.
£729 - could help provide agricultural training in land preparation, planting, harvesting and processing crops for 60 farmers in Tanzania.
£1505 - could help provide a large greenhouse to grow food in harsh environments.
