I am taking part in the 125-mile Devizes to Westminster canoe race, one of the most grueling kayaking events in the world. This race takes place over the Easter Weekend and the competitors have to brave the elements as well has tackle the huge distance, and the loathed portages (of which there are 77).

I’m taking part in the race, along with two other leaders from 1st Southwater Sea Scouts. We are raising money for the Group to be able to purchase more equipment for water activities, to get the Scouts and other groups of young people from the local area canoeing and kayaking further afield than just our local lake.
