In October 2023, I received the life-altering diagnosis of breast cancer. Fortunately, it was detected early, and the prognosis was promising.

After undergoing surgery in November 2023 and a round of radiotherapy in February 2024, along with a lot of recovery, I am happy to say that I am now cancer-free. The best news? My annual checks at the end of last year came back clear too! 🎉

Despite the positive outcome, this journey was undeniably one of the most terrifying and exhausting experiences of my life.

I have been incredibly lucky to have unwavering support from my family and friends (special thanks to Rik for agreeing to do this hike with me - what have we gotten ourselves into!!).

I am deeply grateful for the amazing people in my life who stood by me every step of the way.

Yet, there were moments when I needed more than what family and friends could offer. This is where Macmillan Cancer Support came in.

I was blessed to have the guidance of two extraordinary Macmillan nurses, Kate and Sophie, whose expertise, compassion, and patience were a lifeline. Their support went beyond what I could have ever expected, and it’s something I will be eternally grateful for.

So, on May 10th, I will be hiking 26 miles along the beautiful Norfolk Coast to raise funds for Macmillan, as a heartfelt thank you for everything they did for me. Their work not only supported me, but has been invaluable to my family over the years, including my beloved Uncles David and Trevor, who we sadly lost, and my incredible Godmother Josine, who is still courageously fighting.

This hike is also for everyone battling cancer, and for those who have gone before us, knowing that the path is a little easier with the compassionate care of Macmillan by their side.

All participants must raise at least £250, but as you know, I like to exceed expectations! Any contribution towards smashing that target would mean the world to me.
